Lufthansa Group airlines are coming back to Dubai International (DXB) in stages, starting this weekend. Lufthansa flies Dubai–Munich again from Sunday 25 October 2026 and Dubai–Frankfurt from Monday 26 October. SWISS returns to Zurich on Tuesday 27 October, Eurowings restarts Berlin, Stuttgart and Cologne-Bonn in early November, and Austrian Airlines returns to Vienna on 12 December. Together the group says it will run up to 36 flights a week to and from Dubai once the programme is complete.
Restart dates, route by route
| Airline | Route | First flight back | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lufthansa | Dubai – Munich | Sunday 25 October 2026 | Date also given by Dubai Airports |
| Lufthansa | Dubai – Frankfurt | Monday 26 October 2026 | |
| SWISS | Dubai – Zurich | Tuesday 27 October 2026 | Reported as daily |
| Eurowings | Dubai – Berlin | Sunday 1 November 2026 | |
| Eurowings | Dubai – Stuttgart | Sunday 1 November 2026 | |
| Eurowings | Dubai – Cologne-Bonn | 1 or 3 November 2026 | Reports differ; check with Eurowings |
| Austrian Airlines | Dubai – Vienna | Saturday 12 December 2026 | In time for the school winter break |
The dates come from the Lufthansa Group’s published schedule, as reported by Travel Tomorrow in September, and were repeated in Gulf News’ Dubai flight update on 24 October. Gulf News lists Cologne-Bonn from 1 November, while Travel Tomorrow gives 3 November, so confirm that one before you book. Neither report gives a weekly frequency for each route.
Athens and Manila are back too
- Aegean Airlines reportedly resumed Athens–Dubai on 23 October, with daily flights planned from 26 October. Aegean has a codeshare with Emirates. We could confirm this only through Gulf News, not an official airline or airport notice.
- Philippine Airlines is back on Dubai–Manila, according to a Dubai Airports announcement on 21 October reported by Gulf News. It joins Cebu Pacific on the route, and the airport says each airline runs four flights a week.
Still suspended
Not every European airline is back. Gulf News reported on 24 October that Air France has suspended its Dubai flights through 31 October and that KLM’s suspension runs through 24 October; neither airline has announced a restart date that we could confirm. Iranian airlines remain suspended from UAE airports until further notice. Flights between the UAE and Saudi Arabia are also heavily disrupted; see our UAE–Saudi flights update.
Before you book or fly
- Book on the airline’s own site or app and check that the flight shows as bookable, not just listed.
- Check your flight status on the day. Routes are being rebuilt in phases and timings can still move.
- If a booked flight is cancelled, ask the airline or travel agent in writing for a refund or rebooking. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority says you can escalate an unresolved complaint to it within 14 days.
- Planning winter break travel? UAE schools break from 14 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. See our winter break dates guide and the National Day long weekend on 2 and 3 December.
