Monday’s bulletin puts inland highs at 37°C to 42°C. Friday 23 October looks mostly dry, and seas stay slight all week.

How hot will it be?
The NCM gives a temperature table for Monday only. It does not publish figures for the rest of the week, so check the daily bulletin before outdoor plans later in the week.
| Area (Monday 19 October) | High | Low |
|---|---|---|
| Coast and islands | 34–39°C | 25–30°C |

After Sunday’s alerts
On Sunday 18 October the NCM reportedly issued yellow and orange weather alerts for eastern and southern areas, including mountain areas near Fujairah and Al Ain, from 2pm to 7pm. This was reported by Gulf News; we could not confirm the alert against an NCM notice. Similar afternoon clouds are forecast this week, so alerts may be issued again at short notice. They appear on the NCM website and app.
What to do this week
- Driving in the afternoon: slow down and leave more space when rain or dust cuts visibility, and follow any reduced speed limits shown on the overhead signs. Our guide to UAE traffic fines and black points explains what applies.
- Early mornings: fog or mist is possible on several nights. See how fog speed limits drop to 80 km/h on some roads.
- Flying out: the aviation authority has already warned that low visibility can delay flights. Read our flight delay and fog update and check your flight status before leaving home.
- Wadis and mountain roads: avoid valleys and low crossings when clouds build in the east, as water can rise quickly.
- The bigger picture: the NCM has said this season could be wetter than usual. Our El Niño rain outlook covers how to prepare your home and car.
